Bulldogs start with pair of wins

The Gainesville High School baseball team started the fall campaign last week with a 5-4 win over Mansfield and then faced the Lions in the opening round of the Summit Conference Tournament, where Gainesville again pulled out a win, 8-7.
Harley Taylor was the winning pitcher in the first game for Gainesville, and Aaron Swanson pitched a complete game in the tourney opener to get the victory.
Unfortunately, the Bulldogs lost the next two games in the tournament to Conway 15-0 and then to Norwood in the third-place game, 9-1.
Gainesville also lost at home to Dora on Monday, 8-5.
The Bulldogs will host Fordland at 4:30 Thursday evening.
