Zanoni news: May 30, 2018

We appreciate the little showers that still come now and then. Paul got the lime on Thursday.
On Wednesday, he started to spread across the road and drove into a soft spot and almost turned the truck over. By taking out lots of lime and holding it with the tractor, he pulled the truck out with the dozer  – with a lot of good help.
On Sunday we had a large crowd at church to celebrate Memorial Day and also for the Morrison reunion. The cemetery is beautiful. Paul and I drove around Sunday afternoon and saw lots of great-looking cemeteries.
Casey, my granddaughter, came from Springfield for church and to help me with my food for the big dinner.
One evening at the cemetery I got to see Pat Kastning and her daughter Irene, and also Geraldine Smith and her daughter Mickey VanNess. It was great.
The June food pantry will be on Wednesday, June 6, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and on June 13 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
We will be mowing the Smith Chapel cemetery two times before we ask that flowers on the ground are taken off, in case someone wants to save theirs. May 18 will probably be the last day the flowers will be left on the ground.
We hope everyone had a good holiday and did not eat too much.
