Dora girls to play for district title; Gainesville, Dora boys advance to semis

Three teams are still alive in district tournament action in the class 2, district 10 tourney at Mansfield.

In boys' action, Gainesville and Dora are scheduled to play this evening in the semifinals. Dora will face Mansfield at 6 p.m., while Gainesville will go against Fordland at 7:30. Winners will play for the district championship at 7:30 Saturday evening.

Gainesville beat Seymour 60-31 in the opening round of the tournament on Feb. 19. Dora defeated Norwood 66-40 in the first round to advance.

In girls' action, the Dora Lady Falcons continue their unprecedented season on Saturday as they will play for the district championship against Seymour at 6 p.m. The Lady Falcons won their semifinals game Wednesday over Sparta, 62-59 and will play for the championship at 6 p.m. Saturday.

The Bakersfield Lady Lions, after beating Gainesville in the opening round of the tournament, fell short Wednesday night against Seymour after Bakersfield got down by 20 points in the game. A heroic comeback was not enough as Seymour ousted Bakersfield, 56-52.
