Dora crowns homecoming royalty

Photo by Shana Hambelton Cassidy Hambelton and Cayden Peck were crowned Dora’s homecoming queen and king Friday night.

The Dora Falcons lost their homecoming match against the Norwood Pirates Friday night, 87-62, but that didn’t spoil their festivities. Cassidy Hambelton was crowned homecoming queen and Cayden Peck was selected homecoming king.

In the varsity boys’ game, Brylon Mayberry led the Falcons in scoring with 25 points. Mayberry also had 6 assists in the game. Spencer Howard netted 10 points and had 5 boards for the Falcons.

No other statistics or scores were provided by Dora coaches from homecoming night.

In other varsity action last week, the Falcons beat Lutie 61-51 on Feb. 8. Brylon Mayberry was again an offensive force for the Falcons, again scoring 25 points on the night. He also had 8 rebounds and 8 assists in the game. Easton Carter scored 13 for Dora and had 6 rebounds.

The Falcons got walloped by the Seymour Tigers in action on Feb. 7, 72-27.

Easton Carter led Dora offensively with 15 points, going 5-8 from the 3-point line.

The Falcons travel to Hartville on Feb. 16 and begin first-round play in the Class 2 District 10 tournament on Feb. 19 against Seymour at Cabool.
