Falcons are 2-0

The Dora Falcons boys' basketball team is 2-0 on the year; it's competing this week in the Koshkonong tournament.

The Falcons won in the first round of the tournament Monday over Lutie 62-32, despite starting out "a little sluggish," according to coach Rick Luna.

"We outscored them 19-14 in the first quarter, but we had guys in the wrong spots and reaching and not moving their feet the entire first half," Luna said. "We went into the half winning 33-21; however we wanted to come out and really be aggressive on defense the second half. We held Lutie to 11 points the second half after our wake-up call at halftime."

Leading scorers for Dora were Dustin Johnson with 16, Gavin Haney, 12, and Treysen Hambelton, 12.

The Falcons were scheduled to play tournament-host Koshkonong Tuesday night. Details from that game were unavailable at press time Tuesday.

The Falcons opened the season on Nov. 20 with a win over Summersville, 57-44. Gavin Haney led Dora in scoring in that game with 23 points. The JV Falcons also won, 41-16. Treyson Hambelton led Dora with 15 points, followed by Rowdy Kight with 10.
