Gainesville JV squad takes third in Kosh varsity tournament

The Gainesville JV Bulldogs took third place in the Koshkonong Varsity Boys basketball tournament. In first round action, the Bulldogs beat the Bakersfield Lions 45-38.

Scoring for Gainesville were: Brody Meek-2, Cody Neal-16, Tony Massey-6, Donovan Goodman-1, Alex Lane-5, Tyelor Estes-3, Trey Crawford-3 and Luke Whiddon-9.

In the semifinals, the Bulldogs had an off night losing to the Couch Indians 54-21. Scoring for the Bulldogs were: Cody Neal-2, Tony Massey-3, Donovan Goodman-2, Alex Lane-2, Trey Crawford-6, Luke Whiddon-6.

In the third-place game the Bulldogs beat the Lutie Indians in overtime by the score of 48-44.

Scoring for Gainesville were: Cody Neal-9, Allan McKinzie-4, Zach Mckinzie-1, Alex Lane-2, Tyelor Estes-3, Trey Crawford-10, Luke Whiddon-19.

Whiddon and Crawford were selected to the all-tournament team.

"This was a total team effort," said Gainesville coach Pat Rapert. "The kids played extremely hard and did great playing on short notice in a varsity tournament."

The Gainesville JV team consists of Jon Plaster, Brody Meek, Cody Neal, Allan Mckinzie, Tony Massey, Bode Long, Zach Mckinzie, Ethan Hannaford, Josh Cockrum, Donovan Goodman, Alex Lane, Tyelor Estes, Trey Crawford, Luke Whiddon and Atai Kasymov
