GHS science students visit Bull Shoals Caverns, Dam

Gainesville High School microbiology and ecology classes recently visited Bull Shoals Caverns and the Bull Shoals Dam Visitor Center in Arkansas. The trip helped the students learn about cave ecology and white nose syndrome, a fungus that kills bats. Those making the trip included, front row from left, Kody Brewer and Logan Howard. Abby Church, Latifa BenAwadh, Sammantha Finney, Savannah, Lackey, Colby Lazorchak, Shaoan Xi, Dawson Brown, and Samuel Zacher. The students were accompanied by biology teacher Mindy Peirce and bus driver and aid Gary Emerick.
