Lady Bulldogs tourney champs

Local teams represented Ozark County in style in recent holiday tournament action.
The Gainesville Lady Bulldogs remain undefeated at 9-0 after fighting for the championship of the Mountain Grove Tournament against a tough Licking squad. Gainesville won 61-50 after having beaten the Dora Lady Falcons in the semifinals 63-36.
The Dora Lady Falcons went on to win third place in the tournament.
Meanwhile, the JV Lady Bulldogs captured third place in the Koshkonong Tournament.
On the boys' side, the Gainesville Bulldogs suffered their first loss of the season, losing in the semifinals of the Cabool Holiday Tournament to a tough Plato squad.
The Bulldogs lost the game when the Eagles scored on a last-second putback after the two teams were tied at 61. The final score was Plato 63, Gainesville 61.
In the third place game, the Bulldogs battled more Eagles, this time from Liberty, and came away with a 68-57 win to capture third place.
Thomas Ritter led Gainesville with 23 points in that game, while Treydon Rackley led Gainesville in their semifinal battle against Plato with 19 points.
