Lions hammered by Thayer, Norwood

Still reeling from a 53-point loss to the Hartville Eagles on Dec. 10, the Bakersfield Lions find themselves winless since their Dec. 9 homecoming win over Bradleyville.
Bakersfield took a one-two punch from Norwood and Thayer last week, losing to Thayer 70-34 on Dec. 12 and dropping a contest with Norwood the next night, 73-32.
The Lions managed only 8 points per quarter against Norwood while the Pirates scored 24, 23, 21 and 5 points respectively in the four quarters.
Alex Talley led Bakersfield's effort with 12 points, followed by Cory Lamb with 11 and Michael Williams with 4. Shelten Wray had 3 while Brandon Belt had 2 for the Lions.
The Lions will travel to Koshkonong on Jan. 3 and will host the Lutie Indians Jan. 6.
With the losses, the Lions drop to 1-7 on the year.
