Mark your calendars for our “Meet the Candidates” fundraiser dinner to be held at 6 p.m. Friday, July 20, here at The Center on Highway 5 north at the Gainesville city limits. Candidates will speak and answer questions during dinner, which costs $8 and includes beverage and dessert. The dinner is sponsored by a Thrivent Financial Action team in partnership with the Ozark County Senior Citizens Center Board. Proceeds benefit The Center.

Menus
Lunch is served daily from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and is open to everyone. The cost is $6 for those younger than 60; a $3.50 donation is requested for those over 60. Call 679-4746 to order take-out for 25 cents more.
Wednesday, July 18: meatloaf, mashed potatoes and gravy, seasoned green beans, homestyle biscuit, strawberry angel food cake. Thursday, July 19: cook’s surprise. Friday, July 20: fried fish, brown beans, coleslaw, cornbread, banana cake. Monday, July 23: baked ham, sweet potato, Brussels sprouts, fresh-baked roll, vanilla ice cream sundae. Tuesday, July 24: meatloaf, mashed potatoes and gravy, seasoned green beans, fresh-baked roll, banana split cake. Wednesday, July 25: kielbasa and cabbage, fried potatoes, fresh-baked roll, peanut butter cookie. Thursday, July 26: oven-fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, country vegetables, homestyle biscuit, gooey butter cake.

OATS

OATS transportation is available to the entire county and to anyone regardless of age, income, disability, race, gender, religion or national origin. If you don’t see your area listed, call driver Angela Pleasant, 417-343-0573, for help arranging your ride. For rides from Bakersfield, Caulfield and Dora, call Jean Lawing, 284-7377; from Theodosia and Gainesville, call Mary Piepergerdes, 679-4142. To arrange rides to Springfield, call Lawing or Pleasant. For trips on Tuesday, please call by the preceding Friday; for trips on Thursday, please call by Tuesday. No scheduling is done on the weekend.

Each Thursday of the month Caulfield and Bakersfield go to West Plains. Tuesday, July 24: The whole county comes to Gainesville. The Ozark County Food Pantry is open for OATS riders only. Our business meeting held at 12:30 p.m. at The Center. Business meetings are open to the public. Monday, July 30: Pontiac goes to Branson.
