Gospel concert, sing-along is Saturday in Theodosia

Helping the Hurting to Heal, a non-denominational ministry based in the Theodosia Hub, will host a gospel concert/sing-along by pianist and singer Ken Smith at 7 p.m. Saturday, April 14. The event is free, but Smith said he plans to take up a collection for the ministry.
Weather permitting, the event will be held outdoors and will include a bonfire for heating hot dogs and s’mores.
The reading and prayer room, located between the Theodosia Village Hall and Cash Saver on Highway 160 in Theodosia, is a non-profit ministry recently opened by Carolyn and Tom Mattix of Ocie. They provide food for events held there, as well as for patrons who need a meal during regular operating hours of 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. seven days a week.
The Mattixes support the ministry with yard sales and don’t for donations from those participating in events. However, contributions of food, time or yard sale items are welcome. For more information, call Carolyn Mattix, 417-989-1516.
