MSU-WP and others host April 19 job fair

Missouri State University-West Plains will host a career/job fair from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, April 19, at the MSU-WP Student Recreation Center, 323 W. Trish Knight St. in West Plains.
This free event, also hosted by the Missouri Job Center and the South Central Human Resources Association, will feature information about a variety of educational and job opportunities, as well as service agencies.
Teri Ebel, business services coordinator at the Missouri Job Center said, “Employers will be on site looking to fill open positions.” Those needing help putting together a resumé can visit the Missouri Job Center at 3417 Division Dr. in West Plains.
Steve McCann, veterans representative at Missouri Job Center, will conduct a Work-Ready Employment Assistance Program for veterans at 1 p.m. during the fair to help veterans translate their existing military skills into the civilian workforce.
 Those planning to attend the fair are encouraged to dress professionally, bring 10 to 15 copies of their resumé, allow time to talk with company representatives, prepare a brief summary of their skills and be ready to ask any questions they may have. For more information, call 417-256-3158.
