National Day of Prayer to be observed Thursday in gazebo

Thursday is National Day of Prayer, and the Ozark County Ministerial Alliance will sponsor a community prayer service at noon in the gazebo in front of the Ozark County Courthouse.
Local coordinator Betty Stanley says the theme for this year’s Day of Prayer is unity, and to emphasize the theme, planners have chosen Ephesians 4:3 as the Scripture: “Making every effort to keep the unity of the spirit through the bond of peace.”
The National Day of Prayer is an annual observance held on the first Thursday of May, inviting people of all faiths to pray for the nation. It was created in 1952 by a joint resolution of Congress and was signed into law by President Harry S. Truman.
