BIG BOB’S FISHING REPORT

Bass fishing has been good after dark. Salt craws, jigs and plastic worms have all been effective. Most bass can be found in the 20- to 25-foot range, although a few fish have been caught in shallower water. If you are day fishing, fish early and late for best results. Some top-water activity occurs early in the mornings. The successful anglers have been on the water by 5 a.m. and off the water by 9 a.m. Spring Creek has been one of the better producing areas right now.
Walleye are being caught on night crawlers and bottom bouncers fished in 30 to 35 feet. The Oakland area has been one of the better producers of keeper-size walleye. Deep-diving crankbaits trolled slowly can also be effective. In addition to walleye, big bluegill will take the night crawlers, as will catfish. The key for trolling for these fish is to fish slow. For most boats, that means trolling with the trolling motor on low.
We are in our second week of our 30 percent off sale before we shut the store down. We have a lot of quality product left, and it's a great time to stock up for the future. There are still several bait-casting rods left at a very attractive price.
