Diana Premer and her grandchildren, Colton, Maria and Melody, with their “Lake Hair, Don’t Care” themed golf cart, won the People’s Choice award at Saturday’s 18th annual Theodosia Marina Resort golf cart parade. Parade director Linda Moore, affectionately known as the mayor of TMR campground, said as many as 60 golf carts have appeared in the parade when the Fourth of July holiday falls on a three-day weekend. This year 23 decorated carts rolled through the campground. The parade, a well-loved tradition among TMR campers, is open to anyone with a golf cart or other small vehicle.

Near the end of the Masons’ flag retirement ceremony in Theodosia on Saturday, many of those attending came forward to choose one of the old, battered, faded and torn flags and dedicate it in memory of or in honor of someone. Many veterans dedicated a flag to the memory of fellow veterans who lost their lives in service to their country.
