Lutie teams lose in districts; Other local teams play this week

The Lutie boys and girls teams both faced Exeter in the class 1 district 4 tournament Saturday at Sparta.

Lutie's boys lost to Exeter 57-44. The Indians finish their season with a 9-14 record.

The Lady Indians also lost to Exeter 38-24. The Lady Indians were 1-12 on the year.

In class 2 district 10 action, the Gainesville Lady Bulldogs will take on the Bakersfield Lady Lions in the first round of district action at 5:30 p.m., today at Mansfield. At 7 tonight, Dora will face Fordland in first-round action. Winners will play again on Wednesday night. In the Gainesville-Bakersfield game, the winner will face either Seymour or Norwood, while the Dora-Fordland winner will advance and face either Sparta or Mansfield. The district championship will be 6 p.m., Saturday.

In the boys' class 2 district 10 tournament, also at Mansfield, Bakersfield will square off against Mansfield at 4 p.m. Tuesday (Feb. 19). That game will be followed by Dora vs. Norwood at 5:30 and then Gainesville vs. Seymour at 7 p.m. Winners will play Thursday night in the semifinals. If Bakersfield they would play either Dora or Norwood in the semifinals. The winner of the Gainesville-Seymour game will face either Fordland or Sparta. The championship will be at 7:30 p.m., Saturday.
