Mammoth Assembly donates to Care to Learn

Mammoth Assembly of God recently donated $2,318.19 to kick off the fundraising efforts for the Gainesville chapter of Care to Learn, a program that helps meet the health, hunger and hygiene needs of students in the district. Pictured, from left, are community liaison Holly Strain, VBS director Marti Warden and Angie Compton with her husband, Mammoth pastor David Compton. All the money was raised by children who attended Mammoth’s Vacation Bible School during the summer. “Our VBS mission was to serve the needs of local kids with the money raised,” said Warden. A contest was held between the boys and girls to see who raised the most money. The children raided their penny banks, and the boys won, resulting in the pastor’s wife, Angie, getting a pie in the face. Donations are needed to help the Care to Learn chapter reach their end-of-year goal of $5,000. To donate, make checks or money orders payable to Care to Learn – Gainesville. Checks can be dropped off at the Gainesville Schools or mailed directly to 411 N. Sherman Parkway, Springfield, MO 65802. Be sure to designate Gainesville on the check. Or log on to www.caretolearnfund.org and scroll down the list of chapters to find Gainesville and donate online.
