Zanoni news: Oct. 11, 2017

We are still hoping for a good rain. In two little showers we got .03 inches in all. Every bit does help a little, and we are thankful.

Paul saw the old airplanes that flew over one day.

I had a visit with a guy from Oklahoma on Friday. It was Doyn Mallow, and he was here to attend a school reunion. He was raised in our community, and we had gone to elementary school together.

Paul went with Stan Taber, Dereck Alms, Phillip Snell and Sam Overturf to the Farm Festival in Springfield Friday.

We went to Sunset Church of Christ Sunday in Springfield. Casey was with us. After church, Chris met us at the Golden Corral for dinner. He had been down from Columbia helping a friend do some wiring.

We talked with Steve and Carolyn Morrison a few minutes and saw Sheila Taylor and Ed Hawkins at a distance. They had attended the earlier services.

The fog has been bad a few mornings recently. When it is so dry, we don’t see how it could have moisture to fog. Maybe it will rain this week.

I talked with Arlene Smith, and they had company last week. It was two of Huey’s nephews. Danny Smith was from Olathe Kansas and Johnny Smith from Wisconsin.  Their father was Sammy Smith. They had a good visit.  Arlene and family are in the process of moving closer to Mike and Karla Hogan.

We hope everyone enjoyed the holiday and is ready for Halloween.

Everyone have a good week and get your walnuts picked up. If you want to pick up more, let me know.
