Statutory rape, sodomy charges dropped against Gainesville resident
The state has discontinued the prosecution of statutory rape and statutory sodomy charges against Gainesville resident Bryan Mohr after the state was unable to produce a witness to testify. The Ozark County Prosecuting Attorney’s office confirmed to the Times that a nolle prosequi, a discretionary decision on the part of the prosecutor to no longer proceed with charges in a criminal case, was filed in the case earlier this month. Under these circumstances, the nolle prosequi ruling is “without prejudice,” meaning it can be refiled within the statute of limitations.
Mohr was originally charged with one count of statutory rape and three counts of statutory sodomy in connection with allegations involving a 16-year-old girl.
