South Central Cattlemen to meet Feb. 12 in WP

Dr. Rick Funston of the University of Nebraska will speak on heifer development and fetal programming at the next meeting of the South Central Cattlemen, to be held at 5:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 12, at the Howell County Extension Center, 1376 Bill Virdon Blvd. in West Plains. 

The meal is $15 per person; pre-register by calling the Extension center at 417-256-2391. The deadline to register is Feb. 6; late registration is $20 per person. The program is sponsored by the University of Missouri Extension and the South Central Cattlemen. 

Funston will talk about how to improve beef cow productivity by improving reproductive management and managing beef replacement heifers for increased lifetime productivity before birth and after birth.
