BIG BOB’S FISHING REPORT

The weather may not be as good as we like, but fishing will soon break loose. In about three weeks the white bass should start, the walleye are staging for their annual spawning run, bass are active and crappie fishing has been excellent on both lakes. Bass are still hitting the Rock Crawler crankbait as well as the Bama rig and jigs. Several walleye have fallen to jerkbaits in and around standing timber.
Crappie are being caught in about 18 feet with live minnows, chrome-head jigs and the Charlie Bee sliders. Walleye this time of year are suckers for live minnows and jerkbaits. Reports from Norfork around the Liner area indicate quite a bit of walleye activity.
Starting in March we will be open all day on Saturdays, from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. We are loaded with sliders, rods and reels all designed for white bass or crappie. With a large selection of rod and reel combos, we should have something for everyone. Our Rock Crawler crank baits list for $9.99 compared to $12.99 in most local stores.
I am retiring at the end of August and will be running specials. This week, all swimming-minnow 10 packs are $1, and all soft plastics are 20 percent off. See you in the bait shop.
