BIG BOB’S FISHING REPORT

Last week’s rain got the walleye and white bass moving. On Norfork Lake, several keeper walleye were caught from the bank at the Florence Cook Access on jerkbaits. Live minnows would have worked just as well. White bass have been caught on both lakes as they begin their annual run also. On Bull Shoals, Gooley Creek appears to have the most white bass now while on Norfork they are from Udall north. Live bait, rooster tails, sliders and swimming minnows all work well on these fish.
Bass are beginning to get more active on both lakes, and this will continue as the water warms. Crankbaits, and spinnerbaits are working as well as jigs and the Bama rig. Look for bass in the first third of the creeks or wherever fresh water is running in, The Rock Crawler has been working well, and with stained water the fire tiger color has been hard to beat. Strike King has some new colors of square bills that should do very well also.
Fishing will improve greatly over the next few weeks as walleye and white bass will be abundant. Bass will move shallower as water temps rise; crappie have remained strong all winter and will remain strong through spring.
