Big Bob's fishing report: Dec. 13, 2017

Crappie are still doing well on chrome head jigs, minnows and a variety of small plastic baits. Look for crappie around brush piles or standing timber. When you find one continue to fish as they are schooled up right now. Crappie fishing remains steady even after a cold week.

If you find a log stuck in 15 or so feet, fish it as that’s all it takes to attract crappie.

Bass are finally responding to the Bama rig as well as the Spro Rock Crawler crankbait. Look for bass along main lake bluffs and in the first half of the major creeks. Smallmouth bass are also hitting grubs fished slowly. Spooning has resulted in some good limits with bass found as deep as 40 feet.
