Big Bob's fishing report: Jan. 10, 2018

Crappie are still biting, but they have gone somewhat deeper. Live minnows, chrome-head jigs and jerkbaits are all working. Small spoons have also been effective. Look for crappie anywhere you find some standing timber or brush piles. Bass fishing this past week has been tough. Jigs and the Bama rig are the most productive baits right now. If or when it warms up, crank baits will be effective again.

We are only a few months away from our annual white bass run on both lakes. We are overstocked with swimming minnows. As a result, till the end of January all 10 packs of swimming minnows are on sale for a dollar a pack. In addition, we have several high-end Fenwick HMG spinning rods that sell for $99.99 now on sale through the end of January for $69.99. Last, but not least, all Berkley crank baits are on sale for $4 each, a savings of over $2 per lure.

We have lots of new product for 2018, so stop by and see the latest and greatest.
