Tooth Wizard visits Lutie School as part of Land of Smiles program

As part of the interactive program, Lutie fourth grader Woody Hill, left, participated in a tongue-brushing exercise as the wizard commented on his technique.

Lutie students Aubrey Amos, center, and Isaiah Yeldon, were dressed as teeth for part of the Land of Smiles program. The wizard told the students to close their eyes and prepare to be cleaned with mouthwash, as he brought a bucket labeled "mouth wash" above their heads. Aubrey and Isaiah braced themselves to be drenched with liquid mouth wash, but the luckily the bucket was full of tinsel instead.

Students in preschool through fourth grades at Lutie Elementary were recently visited by the “Tooth Wizard” and “Plaque Man” as part of the Land of Smiles program, a live performance-style presentation that teaches students about good oral healthcare. The 15-year-old Land of Smiles is a free program offered each year to more than 425 schools in Missouri and South Carolina by Delta Dental. To find out more, visit landofsmilesmo.org.
