Missouri House 155th District Rep. Karla Eslinger, left, on Friday delivered a House of Representatives resolution recognizing Thom Embach, right, owner of Harlin Heights Apartments in Gainesville, for his efforts to improve the apartment complex in his 20-plus years of ownership. Harlin Heights manager Donnis Taylor, center, organized a lunch and reception for the event.

Missouri House 155th District Rep, Karla Eslinger of Wasola on Friday presented Thomas “Thom” E. Embach, owner of Gainesville’s Harlin Heights Apartments, with a Missouri State House of Representative resolution. The resolution recognizes Embach, a Mountain Home, Arkansas, resident, for his efforts to make improvements to the affordable, 32-unit apartment complex that serves low-income, handicapped and disabled residents in the area.

The proclamation says Embach has spent more than $100,000 in improvements on the apartment complex recently, replacing sidewalks, roofs, decks, windows, doors, flooring and railings and adding to the landscape. Embach, who purchased the property in 2013 from his father Thomas J. Embach, made a conscious effort to use local contractors and supplies, helping the local economy, the proclamation says. Thomas J. Embach owned the apartment complex from 1996 through 2013.

Embach is a licensed general contractor and owner of T&E Contractors, Inc. of Mountain Home. He has constructed or rehabilitated more than 70 developments, many of which are under affordable housing program regulations. He has also been recognized as a member of the Green Building Designation Board of Governors, the Energy and Green Building Subcommittee of the Construction Codes and Standards Committee for the National Association of Home Builders, and the Affordable Housing Association of Arkansas, which he currently serves as vice president.
