Important election dates coming up

Ozark Countians are reminded of important dates that are coming up related to the next three elections to be held in 2020. Those elections begin with Missouri’s March 10 Presidential Preference Election, followed by the April 7 General Municipal Election and the Aug. 4 Primary Election. The General Election, including the presidential election, will be held Nov. 3. 

Tuesday, Feb. 25, is the first day candidates may file for the Aug. 4 Primary Election.

Also on Tuesday, Feb. 25, absentee voting for the April 7 General Municipal Election opens.

Absentee voting is already underway for the March 10 election. 

Registered voters in Ozark County who will be unable to travel to the polling places throughout the county on the upcoming election days may vote absentee at the Ozark County Clerk’s office in the courthouse from 8 a.m. until noon and from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. weekdays. Voters may also contact the county clerk’s office for information about absentee voting by mail. 

 Ozark Countians who are not yet registered to vote have until Wednesday, March 11, to register to vote in the April 7  General Municipal Election. See more about this election on page 9. 

Feb. 12 was the last day to register in the Presidential Preference Primary. 

July 8 is the last day to register to vote in the Aug. 4 primary.
