Local leaders help celebrate Missouri’s Bicentennial

Ozark County Commissioner John Turner, left, and 33rd District Missouri State Senator Karla Eslinger, of Wasola, stand beside a banner recognizing 2021 as Missouri’s Bicentennial. The banner, which will be displayed in the Ozark County Courthouse, notes Ozark County’s organization in 1841 and says “Aug. 10, 2021, marks the 200th anniversary of Missouri’s entry into the Union as the 24th state. Missouri is home to different regional cultures, geographies and industries. Each community has a story to tell about its people, their history and their culture. By celebrating the accomplishments and diversity of these regions we help create a better understanding of our Missouri and the links that unite us.” To find out more about Missouri’s Bicentennial, visit missouri2021.org and search for @missouri2021 on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
