In December 2018, Jamie Crisp was interviewed by Alien Highway host Chuck Zukowski, right. Alien Highway, a Travel Channel show focusing on UFOs in the United States, aired the episode, Missouri Mayhem, in July. The episode is scheduled to rerun Sept. 4 and 25.

Everyone has their 15 minutes of fame, as the saying goes. For Gainesville resident Jamie Crisp, it was actually about five minutes.

Crisp was interviewed in December for a new Travel Channel show, Alien Highway.

“They made me feel comfortable,” said Crisp of her experience. “I wasn’t nervous. I would do it again.”

Crisp came to the attention of series host Chuck Zukowski when he was researching a 1973 incident in Piedmont and spoke with Dr. Emmett Reary, a chiropractor and UFO (unidentified flying object) investigator in Salem. Reary mentioned that Crisp had been observing multiple UFO sightings for several years.

Though her interview was short, Crisp said Zukowski and the crew were very interested in her experiences.

Crisp, who lives off Highway 181 north of Gainesville, said she began seeing UFOs about four years ago, shortly after moving to her current home. “The first time I saw them was out back of our apartment,” she said. “Two bright white lights by the power lines.”

Crisp said she sees lights and orbs frequently. “When it’s clear, I see them every day. Some days it’s quiet. Some days there’s a lot of traffic in the skies.”

“There’s no sound (with the objects),” said Crisp’s boyfriend, Mike Swartzell. “There’s no whistle. There’s no whooshing of jet engines. You don’t even get the sci-fi noise. Nothing. Just silence.”

Crisp takes photos and videos of her experiences, many of which she shared with Zukowski during her interview. “They used five or six of my photos in the show,” she said. “They used some in other episodes, too.”

The episode, Missouri Mayhem, aired in July and will rerun Sept. 4 and 25. The Travel Channel is channel 277 on DirecTV and 196 on Dish.
