March 27 is filing deadline for August primary candidates

March 27 is the deadline for candidates wishing to file for the Aug. 7 primary election. County offices coming open include presiding county commissioner, county clerk, county collector, county treasurer, clerk of circuit court / recorder of deeds, prosecuting attorney and associate circuit judge. The position of 44th Judicial Circuit judge is also coming open; this judge serves Ozark, Douglas and Wright counties.
For information about filing for county office, call the Ozark County Clerk’s office at 679-3516. The office will be open until 5 p.m. on March 27.
State offices to be voted on in the August primary include state auditor and the Missouri House of Representatives District 155 seat held by Lyle Rowland. Federal offices to be voted on include the U.S. Senate seat currently held by Claire McCaskill and the Congressional District 8 seat held by Jason Smith.
