Miss Mary’s Family Diner opens

Mary White opened Miss Mary’s Family Diner Monday in Theodosia. The café, formerly Miss Patty’s Diner, is next to Cash Saver Pantry on Highway 160. White worked previously in the Cash Saver deli and as a cook for Patty’s Diner owner Patty Rinehart. She and her family moved to Theodosia from Bakersfield, California, in 1996, and since then she has become a familiar face to many residents, who know her as the organizer of the former monthly music jam sessions in the village hall. Last November, White organized, prepared and served a free Thanksgiving dinner at Patty’s Diner for anyone who wanted to come. The new café will be open from 6 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday and from 6 a.m. until 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Closed Sundays. For more information, call the diner at 417-273-2333.
