National barrel racing competitor
Bailee Russell, granddaughter of Joe Frost of Theodosia and the late Opal Frost, recently earned a position on the Missouri State National High School Rodeo Team and will travel to Rock Springs, Wyoming, to compete July 15-21 in the 69th annual National High School Finals Rodeo. The rodeo will host more than 1,650 contestants from 43 states, five Canadian provinces, Australia and Mexico. Students will compete for more than $200,000 in prizes and $350,000 in scholarships. The event will be televised as part of the Cinch High School Rodeo Tour on RFD-TV (see rfdtv.com for the schedule). Live broadcasts of each performance will air online at www.ridepass.com. Bailee, the daughter of Tom and Lisa Russell of Hartville, is a sophomore at Alpha Omega-Vichy Christian Academy and is a four-time national qualifier.
