Rollercoaster temperatures: From frozen and frigid to fishing fun

Last week’s snow-covered Ozark County experienced a drastic change in weather as temperatures climbed over the weekend. (Top, left) On Thursday, Noble resident Shiela Scott captured a unique pattern of ice that froze on top of Bull Shoals Lake at Theodosia after an arctic blast of below-zero mornings. By Saturday, the sun was shining and temperatures were in the mid-50s and on their way to mid-60s on Sunday. Many local residents took advantage of the pleasant weather to get outside, including Gainesville resident Cheyenne Nash and sons Rowan, 1, and Brantley, 5, who spent the day catching trout (including a 3-pounder) at Rockbridge Rainbow Trout Ranch. Sunday’s temperatures rose to nearly 70 degrees, and a round of thunderstorms rolled through the area Sunday evening.
