Second COVID case is confirmed in county

One new case of COVID-19 has been reported here since last week’s Times. Ozark County Health Department administrator Rhonda Suter said Tuesday, June 30, that Ozark County’s second positive case of COVID-19 had been confirmed. The new case brings the county’s total to two confirmed cases.

The second case was confirmed in a person who works outside of Ozark County and “is in isolation,” Suter said on her personal Facebook page.

Neither of Ozark County’s two confirmed cases is related to any of the testing done at the drive-thru clinic Friday, June 26, at Missouri Ozarks Community Health clinic in Gainesville, Suter said.

All 96 of the tests administered at the drive-thru clinic came back with negative results, she said Monday night in a post on her personal Facebook page. OCHD partnered with MOCH in conducting the drive-thru clinic.

Suter said OCHD continues to monitor the COVID-19 situation in the county. She urges residents to “stay positive,” and to wash their hands, and to wear a mask and maintain social distancing when appropriate.
