May 28
(Continued from last week’s Times)
9:07 a.m. – Medical: 72-year-old female is in respiratory distress. Ozark County Ambulance responded. Helicopter transport requested. Cox helicopter first said it would meet OCA at Wasola Volunteer Fire Department firehouse but then said it would meet ambulance at Ava Airport instead.
10:00 a.m. – Medical: 42-year-old female, unspecified situation. Ozarks Medical Center /South Howell Ambulance responded.
11:12 a.m. – Medical: Elderly woman cut the top of her head. Gainesville Fire and OCA responded.
12:49 p.m. – A deer has been hit by a vehicle on the east side of the Theodosia Bridge and needs to be put down. OCSD responded. Unable to locate.
4:59 p.m. – Medical: 66-year-old male has chest pain. OCA and Air Evac responded. Patient transported to Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mountain Home, Arkansas.
6:14 p.m. – A Missouri State Highway Patrol officer is in pursuit of a tan four-door vehicle with two occupants on County Road 881; driver is possibly intoxicated. Subject arrested.

May 29
2:54 a.m. – Caller said a car is parked in the middle of County Road 142 and no one is around it. OCSD rendered assistance; Ron’s towing was called.
3:43 a.m. – Medical: 73-year-old female has severe stomach pain. OCA responded.
5:09 a.m. – Caller said his vehicle hit a deer on Highway 160 near the sale barn and knocked out the front light. Deer was still alive. OCSD rendered assistance.
 8:25 a.m. – Life Alert smoke alarm activated on County Road 659. OCSD and Tecumseh VFD responded. Alarm should be showing clear now.
9:15 a.m. – Caller said a subject is shooting at her on HH Highway. OCSD responded to aggressor’s house. Subject arrested.
9:52 a.m. – Well-being/security check requested on Mitchell Street. Caller said subject was supposed to help her move today and hasn’t shown up. Bakersfield VFD responded. Subject came to door and will call reporting party.
11:21 a.m. – Stolen gun reported on County Road 640. Report taken; gun was entered into MULES.
4:33 p.m. – Caller said someone in a white Ford pickup threw an unknown object out the window and busted the window of caller’s girlfriend’s car. An hour earlier, an unknown object was thrown at caller’s grandma’s car. Officer spoke with reporting party in lobby.
6:03 p.m. – Prisoner transport: Scott Evans, Howell County Sheriff’s Department.
6:28 p.m. – Employee at local business saw a female get into a gray Chevy Silverado and she looked to be handling a “bag of coke.” OCSD responded; unable to locate.
10:50 p.m.  – Sex offense reported at Patrick. OCSD rendered assistance. Howell County Sheriff’s Office picked up rape kit from OMC at 2 a.m. on May 30.

May 30
4:48 a.m. – 2011 GMC pickup hit deer, causing extensive front-end damage. No injuries; deer is deceased and is not blocking roadway and vehicle is still drivable. Wanted it on record for insurance purposes; meat was not taken.
7:16 a.m. – Medical: medic alert button activated. OCA responded; call was canceled.
7:43 a.m. – One-vehicle accident on J Highway by Lick Creek Bridge. Vehicle is partially blocking Lane. MSHP and Lick Creek VFD responded.
9:27 a.m. – Caller said her front license plate is missing because of hitting a deer on Highway 160 2 miles east of Gainesville School. Entered into MULES as lost.
10:27 a.m. – Caller said a stray dog with pups will not let him out of the house on Ball Park Road. Later, dogs’ owner or someone else got the dogs and took them away, so officer was not needed.
10:59 a.m. – Caller was threatened by someone in front of Cash Saver in Theodosia. Officer spoke with caller on phone; he just wanted it on record. At 11:20 he called back and said he wants to see a deputy when one is in the area.
12:05 p.m. – Car broke down on east side of Theodosia Bridge. Theodosia Area VFD responded. Unable to locate.
3:14 p.m. – OCSD aided DFS in juvenile matter. Report taken.
6:22 p.m. – Possible drunk driver reported in dark Mazda with Arkansas tags driving all over roadway headed west on Highway 160. OCSD responded; unable to locate.
11:36 p.m. – Reporting party on Cottonwood Drive says neighbors are blaring their music again, and it happens every week. Officer spoke with owner of resident and advised of noise ordinance and said if noise continued citations would be issued.

May 31
12:15 a.m. – Medical: 33-year-old female has chest pain. OCA responded. Patient transported to BRMC.
12:13 p.m. – Funeral escort, Gainesville.
6:03 pm. – Reporting party requests an officer be present while her ex-husband is present.
4:55 p.m. – Caller said a driver pulling a cattle trailer is trying to run him off the road on Highway 5 north near the Ozark-Douglas county line. Referred to MSHP.
5:21 p.m. – Traffic stop on County Road 104.
9:08 p.m. – Caller said a large tree is across the roadway on County Road 503. County Road and Bridge Department notified.

June 1
12:27 a.m. – Flooding reportedly has damaged Bridges Creek Bridge on V Highway.
2:00 a.m. – Reporting party said a man is standing on Tecumseh Bridge, looking over into water. Not sure if his vehicle might have gone over or what is going on. OCSD responded. Checked OK.
3:06 a.m. – Vehicle accident: maroon Durango ran into bluffs on Highway 5 north between Bryant Plastics and storage units. No one is around vehicle. OCSD rendered assistance. Driver is going to BRMC by private vehicle. Ron’s Towing was called.
5:25 a.m. – Road damage by bridge at Bakersfield Park. Tree and other debris are on the bridge. OCSD rendered assistance.
7:30 a.m. – Deputies told reporting party in earlier incident not to get any items out of house until deputy could be there this morning. They were told to call in for stand-by.
8:54 a.m. – Suspicious  vehicle: beige Chrysler with Arkansas plates headed east

on Highway 160.
9:03 a.m. – Flood damage reported on County Roads 540, 563, 542, 557, 555 and 544. Eastern district commissioner says all crews are working.
12:46 p.m. – Driver hit deer with his white Ford 250 van on Highway 160 east by Newton Drilling. Wanted it on record.
1:06 p.m. – OCSD aided DFS on a call.
2:24 p.m. – Panic alarm activated on keypad on County Road 806. Handled by officer. Homeowner accidentally hit button.
3:00 p.m. – Caller said house on County Road 103 has been broken into. Report taken.
8:36 p.m. – Reporting party swerved to miss a deer and went into ditch on Highway 142 near Bakersfield. No property damage and no injuries. MSHP and Bakersfield VFD responded.

June 2
6:40 a.m. – Careless and imprudent driver reported on Highway 160 west of J Highway. A white four-door car is reportedly passing and swerving all over roadway; vehicle went into ditch and then came back onto the road. OCSD rendered assistance to MSHP.
7:19 a.m. – 56-year-old male with feeding tube has stomach pain, high blood pressure. OCSD rendered assistance.
12:07 p.m. – Caller found a wallet in the Warren Bridge area. Wanted it on record in case someone reports it missing.
12:22 p.m. – Prisoner transport to Douglas County.
2:05 p.m. – Reporting party said a black-primered short-bed single-cab Chevy truck with mag wheels pulled into his sister-in-law’s yard on County Road 523 and driver asked very personal questions. Report-ing party and sister-in-law did not know the subject. OCSD responded; unable to locate.
2:09 p.m. – Caller said he has been having problems with people driving through his hay fields on County Road 540, tearing up property. Wanted it on record; spoke with officer and asked for increased patrol in the area.
2:18 p.m. – Reporting party said he attempted to untangle two small dogs at Hammond Campground and was bitten. Caller said dogs belong to some campers who have gone floating. Called was referred to Scott Plum of Forest Service.
2:26 p.m. – Caller said a black Chevy Cobalt with a flat tire and expired temporary tags has apparently been abandoned at Theodosia Area VFD’s Isabella firehouse. Wanted it on record. No information found on tags.
3:06 p.m. – Lift assistance needed on County Road 521. Lick Creek VFD responded.
3:15 p.m. – OCSD aided another agency in Isabella.
5:30 p.m. – OCSD assisted a citizen who needed to get items from a house.
6:06 p.m. – Well-being / security check requested on J Highway. OCSD responded; female was taken to Plaza Motel for the night.
6:30 p.m. – Well-being / security check requested. Caller is unable to make contact with her parents on County Road 556. OCSD responded; checked OK.
7:40 p.m. – Medical: 17-year-old female has taken a handful of hydroxyzine. OCA, OCSD and Thornfield VFD responded.
8:53 p.m. – A truck is reportedly sitting in front of a cabin at Indian Oaks that shouldn’t be there. Handled by officer. Subject’s mother is coming to get him and the vehicle.
11:43 p.m. – Careless and imprudent driver in silver Chevy Truck reported on Highway 5 north near Highway 95. OCSD rendered assistance.

June 3
12:52 a.m. – Relating to earlier incident, reporting party said people on J Highway are selling her items and messaging her that they aren’t giving them back. OCSD rendered assistance.
6:23 a.m. – Black-and-white cows are out on NN Highway near County Road 639. OCSD rendered assistance; unable to find owners.
11:25 a.m. – Motorist has a stranded vehicle in dangerous location on Highway 5 north at County Road 117. Wasola VFD, Gainesville Fire and Jim’s Wrecker responded.
12:47 p.m. – MSHP advised of careless and imprudent driver in a red Dodge Stratus on Highway 5 north southbound from Squires. OCSD responded. Unable to locate.
1:25 p.m. – Tree across roadway on PP Highway.
4:35 p.m. – 911 call from person needing help on Country Club Drive; subject is verbally fighting with reporting party. Handled by OCSD officer.
4:43 p.m. – Sewer is backed up on Tarmac Drive. OCSD rendered assistance.
4:46 p.m. – Medical: 55-year-old male has chest pains. OCA and Gainesville Fire responded.
6:27 p.m. – Reporting party in nursing home wants her vehicle entered as stolen. Daughter was contacted and said mother has dementia.
7:04 p.m. – Caller said male subject will not leave a local store. Handled by OCSD officer.

June 4
12:55 a.m. – Caller at convenience store said a person in a gray Chevy truck has been sitting and watching the store since 11 p.m. OCSD rendered assistance.
5:22 a.m. – Careless and imprudent driver in truck pulling a white utility trailer reported on Highway 160 near Caulfield. OCSD rendered assistance.
8:54 a.m. – Cows out on Highway 160 east.
11:24 a.m. – Tree across road on County Road 923. Western district commissioner contacted.
