Sheriff's report: Oct. 2-7, 2017

Oct. 2

1:21 a.m. – Subject was reported to be sleeping in a truck in the Bullseye parking lot. OCSD responded. Checked OK.

2:13 a.m. – Caller said a deer was hit by a vehicle and was possibly still alive on Highway 160 in Lilly Ridge area. OCSD rendered assistance; deer was dead.

7:17 a.m. – Vehicle in ditch on J Highway 1 1/2 mile south of Highway 160. Unknown injuries. Lick Creek VFD and Ozark County Ambulance responded. 

8:53 a.m. – Caller said a man at The Center is trying to take equipment. OCSD responded; matter was being resolved. 

11:30 a.m. – Medical: Male in his 60s on T Highway is having a possible heart attack. Timber Knob VFD and OCA responded. Patient was transported to Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mountain Home, Arkansas.

12:08 p.m. – Caller reported death of 67-year-old male on County Road 806. OCSD responded.

5:07 p.m. – Caller said between 3 and 5 p.m. someone had stolen his road sign and the Marshall Cemetery sign. Caller wanted it on record. He was advised to let his landlord know.

7:37 p.m. – Caller said he had received a phone call from someone saying he was going to be arrested for tax evasion. Caller wanted it on record and was advised to report it to the Better Business Bureau.

7:40 p.m. – Caller said a bale of hay had dropped in the middle of MM Highway, blocking the roadway. Gainesville VFD responded for traffic control. Missouri Department of Trans-portation was contacted. Officer responded and removed the hay bale.

8:40 p.m. – Caller reported a teenage female causing herself harm. OCSD and OCA responded. Patient was transported to Ozarks Medi-cal Center in West Plains.

 

 

Oct. 3

8:06 a.m. – Prisoner transported: Jon Latham.

9:21 a.m. – Caller reported a tree across the southbound lane of Highway 181. OCSD responded.

1:08 p.m. – Medical: 75-year-old male is having trouble breathing on County Road 608. Timber Knob VFD and OCA responded.

2:43 p.m. – Caller said a red Ford pickup burned rubber in front of her driveway on W Highway by Locust Road. OCSD rendered assistance.

3:05 p.m. – Caller said someone is using her trashcan without permission. Wanted it on record for now. 

3:38 p.m. – Caller said someone has been stealing feed from his barn, driving through and tearing up his fields and shooting deer and leaving them in the fields. OCSD rendered assistance and contacted Missouri Department of Conservation about killing of deer.

4:07 p.m. – Caller said a man is hanging around Dollar General store trying to get employees to come outside to fight him. Store manager asks that man be banned from store. OCSD rendered assistance, notifying man he was banned and was not to return to the store.

4:10 p.m. – Deceased 72-year-old woman reported. Tecumseh VFD and OCA responded. OCA was canceled.

4:17 p.m. – Caller called again about deceased wife. OCSD rendered assistance.

5:25 p.m. – Man is drunk and destroying property on Cedar Oak Drive. OCSD rendered assistance. Parties were separated.

5:49 p.m. – Physical domestic disturbance reported on County Road 158. OCSD responded. Subject arrested.

6:28 p.m. – Caller said a Dodge pickup is in the ditch on County Road 1032. Truck is sticking out into roadway with a tree in the back of it, and no one is around the truck. Contacted Baxter County, Arkansas.

6:28 p.m. – Two-vehicle accident reported on Arkansas Highway 201 and County Road 784. Contacted Baxter County.

6:37 p.m. – Medical: ALS patient has 104 degree fever and needs to go to OMC. Dora VFD and OCA responded. Patient was transported to OMC.

6:40 p.m. – Careless and imprudent drivers reported: red Mustang and black truck are reportedly racing on County Road 806. OCSD rendered assistance.

8:56 p.m. – Suspicious incident reported at Bullseye. OCSD responded; handled by officer.

9:55 p.m. – Medical: Life Alert pendant was manually activated. OCA and Brixey-Rockbridge VFD responded. No injuries. OCA canceled.

10:07 p.m. – Caller said he hit a deer on Z Highway. No damage was done to his truck; he is taking meat. OCSD rendered assistance, filled out MDC tag.

10:10 p.m. – Vehicle accident. Tree is down on Highway 160, blocking westbound lane west of Duke’s. MoDOT was notified. 

10:16 p.m. – Vehicle accident reported on Highway 160 east of Tecumseh VFD. Vehicle is in ditch, and two occupants are still inside. Gas tank is possibly on fire. OCA, Tecumseh, Gainesville and Bakersfield VFDs responded. Gainesville was canceled. Mercy Air transported requested but declined due to weather. Patient was transported by OCA to OMC.

10:20 p.m. – Vehicle accident on Highway 160 reported again. MSHP was contacted.

11:45 p.m. – 911 call came in from location on Court Square with no one on the line. OCSD responded. Officer checked area; everything secure.

 

 

Oct. 4

1:47 a.m. – Caller on Highway 181 has found a medium-size white dog with brown patches on its face.

7:52 a.m. – Caller reported theft of gas that was siphoned from tank and two deep cycle batteries from Twin Forks docks off HH Highway. OCSD rendered assistance.

8:48 a.m. – Caller said somebody took tools from his barn near Mammoth Cemetery. OCSD rendered assistance. Handled by officer, who talked with caller on phone.

10:42 a.m. – Medical: 76-year-old female has been bitten by a cat. OCA responded.

11:38 a.m. – Caller said someone is cutting cedar off her property near Patrick Bridge. Requested extra patrol. Handled by officer.

11:46 a.m. – Prisoner transport: Crystal Lewis. 

12:21 p.m. – Domestic disturbance reported on County Road 850. Man has run off into the woods. Report taken.

12:58 p.m. – Caller said landlord has turned off her electricity. OCSD officers attempted contact with caller.

1:50 p.m. – Caller said neighbor is cutting trees on property off County Road 557.

2:00 p.m. – Caller said dogs are killing his livestock in Dora. OCSD rendered assistance.

2:40 p.m. – Mail carrier requested well-being/security check on resident on County Road 103 who usually checks his mail every day and hasn’t checked it now for several days.

7:10 p.m. – Caller said a red semi pulling a cattle trailer is all over the roadway on Highway 160 west. OCSD responded; checked OK.

7:32 p.m. – Caller said he had hit a cow with his vehicle on Highway T toward Liner. Lick Creek VFD and MSHP responded. Animal owner was contacted.

9:00 p.m. – Well-being/ security check requested on Cedar Oak Drive. OCSD responded; subject arrested.

9:04 p.m. – OCSD assisted DFS at residence.

 

Oct. 5

7:22 a.m. – Caller said neighbors are driving through his driveway, spinning out and flipping off the caller. OCSD responded; handled by officer.

7:24 a.m. – Caller is telling subjects they cannot cut any trees on  right of way on County Road 557. OCSD responded; handled by officer.

7:26 a.m. – Prisoner transport: Jon Latham.

10:27 a.m. – Medical: 29-year-old male on Highway 181 is vomiting blood. Tecumseh VFD and OCA responded.

1:25 p.m. – Caller said someone has burned something that is blazing back up on Highway 181 near Hodgson Mill. Dora VFD responded.

2:14 p.m. – Medical: 71-year-old male on Highway 181 has chest pressure. Caney Mountain VFD and OCA responded.

4:05 p.m. – OCSD traffic stop on Highway 5 north. Vehicle searched. 

5:43 p.m. – Caller in Dora said a luggage box was taken from the back of his truck. Bag had clothes and medicine in it. Wanted on record.

6:18 p.m. – Caller said he saw people in an abandoned house on Z Highway. When they saw him, they ran off into the woods. OCSD responded; unable to locate.

 

Oct. 6

12:35 a.m. – Caller has dead battery at the carwash. Off-duty officer responded.

4:14 a.m. – Medical: 92-year-old female has pulled out her feeding tube. OCA responded. Patient was transported to OMC.

6:35 a.m. – Caller said a power or phone line is across the roadway on Highway 95 south. Theodosia Area VFD responded and confirmed it was a telephone line. Centurylink was contacted.   

8:02 a.m. – Prisoner transport: Jessica Wollen and one for Douglas County transported.

9:00 a.m. – Medical: 59-year-old male has not been able to move the last couple of days. Theodosia VFD and OMC responded. Patient was transported to OMC.

9:25 a.m. – Caller on McClendon Drive said dogs had gotten in the trash again and scattered it everywhere. OCSD officer talked with caller on phone.

11:35 a.m. – Caller said two people are sitting in a red pickup at the post office and are acting strange. OCSD responded. People are homeless and are going to move on.

12:57 p.m. – Caller said a man was on the front porch of a residence on County Road 374 between 5:30 and 6 p.m. When she pulled up, he ran off. Wanted it on record. Nothing was apparently taken, and man had not gained access to the residence. 

 

Oct. 7

2:09 a.m. – Medical: 56-year-old male has stomach pain. OCT responded. Patient was transported to OMC.

2:57 a.m. – OCSD traffic stop near Dollar General. Assistance rendered.

11:07 a.m. – Caller says a blue Ford truck has run off into the ditch in front of the Isabella post office and appears to be stuck on a concrete-block section. Caller said no one is in or around the vehicle, and it is not blocking the roadway. MSHP responded.

11:59 a.m. – Brush fire reported on AR Highway toward Oil Creek Road. Bakersfield VFD responded.

2:20 p.m. – Caller says grandson is causing a disturbance at residence. OCSD responded.

4:09 p.m. – Caller had two purses – one gold, one black – stolen out of a vehicle at Hammond Camp. Caller says suspects are driving a white Chevy truck headed toward Howell County. Howell County was notified. OCSD rendered assistance.

5:28 p.m. – Motorcycle accident at Highway 101 and 142. OCA,  Bakersfield VFD and Air Evac responded. 

5:29 p.m. – Another call came in about the motorcycle accident.

6:54 p.m. – Horse in roadway on W Highway. MSHP responded. Horse was recovered by owner.

8:04 p.m. – Caller found a horse at W Highway near County Road 602. Horse has been recovered by owner.

9:24 p.m. – OCSD traffic stop near Haskins Ford.
