Town & Country starts major remodel
Work started Monday on the major remodeling project that will give Gainesville’s Town & Country Supermarket a new appearance inside and out, representing what Town & Country spokesman Matt Montgomery called “a significant investment in the store and thus the community in which we are fortunate to serve.”
The remodeling will give the front exterior of the current building a facelift, with new signage and decor elements, and it will include what Montgomery described as an “update/reset of pretty much all store departments (grocery, dairy, frozen, meat bakery, deli and produce).”
New customer bathrooms will be added, and new flooring and check-lane fixtures also will be installed, along with new display cases for produce, dairy, meat and frozen food. The ceiling will be replaced, with updated store lighting added; the service counter will also be updated. The bakery/deli register area also will be remodeled.
Montgomery said the company hopes to have the remodel completed “in the first half of the year, but ... there are sometimes delays that are beyond our control.”
