Two new businesses recently opened their doors just off the square in Gainesville
Ozark Waterways Real Estate
Ozark Waterways Real Estate recently opened its Gainesville office on Third Street next to MFA Oil east of the square. Barb Stark, broker, and Roy Johnson, agent, offer expertise in all types of real estate, said Stark, who got her real estate license in 2005 and opened her own office in West Plains in 2010 after working 23 years in banking. When Johnson, an Ozark County native who’s sold real estate for 50 years, joined the company a few months ago, they decided to move the office to Gainesville. Stark said they’re receiving frequent inquiries from prospective customers, especially from Illinois and the West Coast, with several from California, as well as Arizona. “We see a lot of retirement folks,” she said. “They can come here and live much cheaper and have access to the beautiful lakes and rivers. It’s very appealing.”
