Two Ozark County teens injured in Douglas County crash

Seventeen-year-old Andrew Ault of Gainesville and 18-year-old (Laura) Hailey Taylor of Isabella were transported to Cox South Hospital in Springfield Nov. 9 with injuries they sustained in a single-vehicle crash in Douglas County. 

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, Ault was traveling westbound on Highway 14, about 7 miles east of Ava, in a 1998 Chevrolet Z71 pickup at 5:45 p.m. when he failed to negotiate a curve, ran off the right side of the roadway and struck a fence and tree. 

Neither Ault or Taylor were wearing a seatbelt, according to the online report. Both sustained moderate injuries and were transported to Cox South Hospital in Springfield by ambulance. The truck, a total loss, was towed from the scene.
