Connie Danielson, 56, of Drury, and Edward Moore, 52, of Lexington, Kentucky, were taken by an Ava ambulance service to Cox South Hospital in Springfield Sunday with serious injuries sustained in a single-vehicle crash on Highway 95 near Bell Bridge southeast of Rockbridge. First responders with Brixey-Rockbridge and Eastern Douglas County Volunteer Fire Departments, the Ozark County Sheriff’s Department and the Missouri State Highway Patrol responded to the crash, and crews reportedly worked for nearly an hour with extraction equipment to free Moore from the vehicle. The Ozark County Sheriff’s report indicates that responders attempted to have the patients transported by air ambulance, but Air Evac declined the call due to weather-related issues. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol online crash report, Danielson was traveling southbound on Highway 95 in Ozark County, about 10 miles south of Gentryville, around 10 a.m. on April 15 in a 2014 Dodge Ram pickup when the vehicle traveled off the left side of the roadway and struck a tree. It is unknown if Danielson was wearing a seatbelt. Moore was not wearing a seatbelt, according to the report. The accident was investigated by MSHP Cpl. N. J. Britt with assistance from officers Sgt. A. D. Johnson and Cpl. J. R. Roberts. The vehicle, a total loss, was towed from the scene.
