Big Bob's fishing report: Nov. 29, 2017

Warmer than usual weather has made bass fishing fun as many baits that normally don’t work well this time of year are doing fine. Spinnerbaits, top water, spoons, Bama rigs and jigs are all working and working well. Try fishing docks by pitching a jig or crawfish-type bait as several anglers have had good success doing this. Main-lake fishing for bass seems to be working better than creek fishing.  Main lake bluffs at depths of 15 to 25 feet have been producing good catches.

We are overstocked with Pfleuger spinning reels and Fenwick HMG spinning rods. Wednesday through Saturday we’ll offer 20 percent off either of these if you mention that you saw it in the paper.

Several new rock crawler crank bait colors are out this year, and we have them in stock. War Eagle sold out to Pradco, a large distributing company. Bottom line is I cannot buy direct anymore so my options for product and color will be limited. Currently we have most colors in spoons and spinnerbaits, and you may want to stock up while they are available.

Crappie have been doing well on both lakes with minnows the bait of choice. We have minnows in stock and will have through spring. We just received new drop-shot baits that look great and can also be used on a jig head. Stop in and see what’s new for next year.
