The late portion of Missouri’s youth season was last weekend
Young hunters ages 6 to 15 took 50 additional deer (25 bucks, 2 button bucks and 23 does) over the three-day youth-specific late deer season. That makd a total of 218 deer killed during youth seasons this year when paired with the 168 deer killed during the early youth season Oct. 28-29.
Statewide, youth killed a total of 3,056 additional deer during the late youth season.
Youth in next door Howell County killed a total of 69 deer (21 bucks, 14 button bucks and 34 does) during the late session. Douglas County had 71 additional deer harvested by youth, and youth from Taney County killed 37 deer.
Archery deer season is currently open through Jan. 15, 2018. Ozark County will also have a new antlerless portion of firearms deer season that will run Dec. 1-3. The alternative methods season will be held Dec. 23 through Jan. 2, 2018.
