Charlene ‘Gayle’ Parsons Pruett, 70

Funeral services for Charlene “Gayle” Hughes Pruett, 70, of Farmington were held Dec. 22, 2020, at Cozen Funeral Home in Farmington with James Chaisson officiating. Mrs. Pruett died Dec. 17, 2020, at Mercy Hospital in Festus.

She was born March 3, 1950, in Mountain Grove, the daughter of Eugene and Pauline Rhodes Parsons.

She grew up in Ozark County and graduated from Gainesville High School in 1967. For more than 40 years, she was a beautician and owned her own shops most of that time. Quilting was one of her hobbies, and she also enjoyed traveling. She had a great love of Christ and had been a longtime member of the Church of Christ of Park Hills on Crane Street. Daily Bible readings were a ritual for her, and she was known to memorize Bible passages.

She loved her family with all her heart, and she especially loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Her loved ones will miss her beautiful smile, which could light up a room.

Survivors include her husband, Gary Pruett; her sons Tony Thomas and wife Tanya, and Jim Thomas and wife Katie; six grandchildren, Troy Thomas and wife Ashley, Terry Thomas, Jackson Thomas, Jaydon Thomas, Jett Thomas and Kora Thomas; great-grandchildren Easton and Averie Thomas; siblings Ronnie Parsons, Victor Parsons and Ida Stout; stepsons Gary “Ryan” Pruett and wife Julie, and Nathan Lynn Pruett and wife Charlene; five step-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Jimmy Parsons and Randy Parsons; and her aunt and uncle who raised her, Lawrence and Ava Smith.

Burial was in Lone Star Cemetery in Mountain Grove. Memorial contributions may be made to Church of Christ of Park Hills. Condolences may be expressed at cozeanfuneralhome.com.
