David Benjamin Wesley Nash, 87

Funeral services for David Benjamin Wesley Nash, 87, of West Plains, were held Jan. 16, 2021, at First Church of God in West Plains. Mr. Nash died peacefully in his sleep on Jan. 12 at NHC Healthcare in West Plains.

 He was born May 14, 1933, in Dora, the sixth child of Cecil and Oma Bird Nash. He graduated from Dora High School and served in the Navy during the Korean War. In 1955, he married Wanda Mae Gunter. For many years they lived in St. Joseph, where they raised their family. As their children left home, they returned to their beloved Dora. Mrs. Nash died in 2010, and later Mr. Nash moved to West Plains to live with his eldest son and his wife.

Mr. Nash loved his family and had a special place in his heart for the children. He was a Christian and accepted Jesus Christ as his savior. He was a hard worker, a dedicated husband and father, and a loyal friend, always sharing a smile and honest compassion.

He is survived by three children, Kathy Nash Violett and husband Pat of Dora, Sam Nash and wife Lesa of West Plains, and Tim Nash and wife Susan of Warrenton; four siblings, Jane Nations, Paul Nash, Sara Lou Mayfield and John Nash; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife; one brother, Joe Nash; and one granddaughter, Samantha Lee Nash Jarboe. 

Burial was be at Parsons Cemetery in Dora.
