Donald Gene Hudson, 65
Graveside services for Donald Gene Hudson, 65, of Gainesville, were held Oct. 2, 2020, in the Loftis Cemetery with Jeff Dotson officiating. Mr. Hudson died Sept. 28 at Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare Center in Ava.
He was born May 31, 1955, in Gainesville, the son of James McKinley and Freda Alzada Loftis Hudson. He was a 1973 graduate of Gainesville High School.
Mr. Hudson was a talented carpenter, and he loved to play his guitar. He hardly ever watched TV, but when he was home, he would wake up around five o’clock every morning to watch Arnold Murray preach on the “Shepherd’s Chapel” show. He loved talking to his grandsons and still teased them every chance he got.
He is survived by two sisters, Jamie Hudson and Carol Hudson Taylor and her husband Rick; one brother, Doug Hudson; two children, Dustin Hudson and Renee, Mindi Lawson and Monty; two special grandchildren, Colton and Rhett Lawson; and many cousins and relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
