Doug Thompson, 78

 Funeral services for Willard Douglas Thompson, 78, of Henderson, Tennessee, were held November 19, 2022, at Henderson Church of Christ in Henderson, Tennessee, with Roy Sharp officiating. Mr. Thompson died November 16 at JMCGH in Jackson, Tennessee.

 He was born July 10, 1944 in Tecumseh, the son of Elvis and Florence Thompson. He grew up in Ozark County and on August 1, 1964, he married Sharlene Hambleton of Dora. They made their home and raised their family in St. Charles, Missouri, while he worked for Ford Motor Company for 35 years. After retiring, in 2006, they moved to Henderson, Tennessee. He was a member of the Henderson Church of Christ. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.

 Survivors include his wife Sharlene of Henderson, Tennessee, and children Mike (Cindi) Thompson of Wentzville, Missouri, Mark (Amanda) Thompson of Pulaski, Tennessee, and Dana (Jeremy) King of Selmer, Tennessee, 10 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and five siblings.

Burial will be at a later date at the Ball Cemetery in Dora. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Freed Hardeman University Associates Scholarship fund.
