Floyd ‘Ken’ Stiers, 91

 

A graveside service for Floyd Kenneth “Ken” Stiers, 91, of Mountain Home, Arkansas, was held Nov. 6, 2020, at Pontiac Cemetery. Mr. Stiers died Nov. 2.

He was born on March 3, 1929, in Ogden, Kansas, the son of Cecil and Dorothy Allen Stiers. He served in the Navy from March 1946 to September 1970, serving during World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He traveled with the Blue Angels and worked as their mechanic. In his retirement, he was a member of the VFW and the Twin Lakes Golf Club.

He is survived by two nephews, Rick Mahan and wife Letha, and Greg Sligh and wife Mary Ann; one niece, Charlene Schlotzhauer and husband Ron of Gainesville; and brother in law, Joe Mahan and wife Elaine.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wives: Wilma Christine Mahan Stiers, who died in 1996, and Noma Stiers, who died in 2004.
