Glennferd Dean Lyon, 71
Funeral services for Glennferd Dean Lyon, 71, of Dora, were held Nov. 22, 2021, at Clinkingbeard Funeral Home in Gainesville with Dale Roberts and Nathan Phenix officiating. Mr. Lyon died Nov. 18 at his home.
He was born Sept. 28, 1950 in Poplar Bluff, the son of George Washington Lyon and Telesa Brames Lyon. On June 11, 2005, at Wimpy’s Resort in Mountain Home, Arkansas, he married Marcia Gossett Foust.
Mr. Lyon was retired from truck driving and various other jobs. He had a farm at Dora, and he loved hunting, fishing and owning cattle. He also owned mules for many years. His true love was coon hunting with his prized dogs Duchess, Bo (Bojangles), and Sissy and Sassy.
He was a Navy veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Marcia Lyon; one son, Jason Dean Lyon and fiancée Shauna Kocizky of Imperial; daughter Dena Lyon Welch of Florrisant; grandchildren Autumn and Alyssa Lyon of Imperial, and Ryan Hammond, Jacob and Samuel Welch of Florrisant; one sister, Jean Woodard of Van Buren; and nieces Keri Lyon Baker, Noelle Sliker and Mechelle Lyon.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, George Lyon.
A graveside service with full military honors was held Nov. 23 at Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Pacific, Missouri.
