Hadley Van Hathcock, 77

A graveside service for Hadley Van Hathcock, 77, of Kansas City, formerly of Gainesville, was held Sept. 18, 2020, at Gospel Hill Cemetery near Bakersfield. Mr. Hathcock died Sept. 12 at his home.

He was born Dec. 5, 1942, the son of to Martin L. and Leongoree Morrison Hathcock. On Sept. 24, 1961, he married Mary Roberts. They would have celebrated 59 years this month.

Mr. Hathcock worked for the Kansas City Police Department for 30 years. After retirement, he worked as a private detective and a school bus driver. He enjoyed fishing and gardening. He was a proud Christian for 48 years.

He is survived by his wife, Mary; one daughter, Cynthia Hathcock of the family home; one son, Darin Hathcock and wife Brandi of Overland Park, Kansas; and three grandchildren, Nixon Van Hathcock, Marston Van Hathcock and Vandyl Floyd Hathcock.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two children, Michael Van Hathcock and Brant Alan Hathcock.
