James ‘Jim’ David Pry, 79

An open visitation for Jim Pry, 79, of Bakersfield, will be held from noon to 4 p.m. Thursday, March 11, 2021, with family receiving friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Mr. Pry, formerly of Harrisburg, Arkansas, died March 6 at his home.

He was born July 3, 1941, at home in Oil Trough, Arkansas, the son of Richard David and Winnie Pearl Hawkins Pry. 

On Sept. 15, 1962, he married Elizabeth Ann Price.

He was of the Baptist faith, a truck driver and a cotton ginner. He loved spending time with family and friends. 

He is survived by his wife, Ann, of the home in Bakersfield; three daughters, LaMaynena Dunn and husband Bobby, and Tracy Pry, all of Harrisburg, and Yancy Pry (and Levi Lally) of Bakersfield; one son, Stuart Pry of Bakersfield; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and eight sisters.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one granddaughter, Beth Pry; and one daughter-in-law, Kim Pry.

A private burial will be held later in the Maple Springs Cemetery.
